State Bank of India is proud to be associated with more than 44 lakhs Pensioners and thank them for continued patronage. To cover the pensioners across the country, SBI has set up 18 Central Pension Processing Centers (CPPCs), where pension is processed electronically.
To avail pension through State Bank of India, the retiring employee can open account with any branch of State Bank of India, preferably with spouse and provide the account number to the Department from where, he/she is going to retire.
For opening account, Aadhaar number, PAN number, mobile number and email_id (if available) are basic requirements. Please visit https://sbi.bank.in/web/personal-banking/accounts/saving-account/savings-bank-account for more information.
In case the Pension Sanctioning Authority/Department has switched to issuing e-PPOs, along with the letter of undertaking and other related documents pension will start automatically in most of the cases, as all formalities are completed digitally. In case printed PPO is issued, it is directly sent to the Centralized Pension Processing Centre (CPPC). Pensioner is no longer required to visit the pension paying Branch in normal circumstances.
The pensioner is required to submit his/ her life certificate and other undertakings, wherever required, in November (for the pensioners of age 80 years and above, October & November) every year for continuous pension payment. It is a privilege to have pension accounts with us and we share the list of facilities which bank offers to our valuable customers:
1. Facility provided for submission of Annual Life Certificate including DLC from home etc.
- Branches have facility to accept Digital Life Certificate (DLC) and Life Certificate (LC) in printed forms.
- Doorstep collection facility available for LC
- Special facility to physically challenged/ incapacitated and pensioners unable to present at the branch. In such cases the bank official visits the pensioner’s residence / hospital for the purpose of obtaining the life certificate.
- Acknowledgement through SMS on submitting Life Certificate/Reminder in case of non-submission
2. Pension details are available:
a. Details through SMS after each pension credit.
b. Pension slip made available to the pensioners
- Through SMS : Details of pension paid is provided to the pensioners, every month. on release of pension on their registered mobile number.
- Through e mail ID : Pension slip is provided to the pensioners on their registered emails ID, every month, after release of pension
- By visiting Branch/CPPC : Pensioners can get their pension slip from Pension paying Branches / CPPCs.
- SBI Internet Banking: Pensioners can login and download it
- YONO SBI : Pensioners can login and make request for pension slip which is sent to their registered e-mail ID.
- PensionSeva website : Pensioners can login and download it (https://www.pensionseva.sbi.bank.in)
- 3. Pension related other data & information is available at PensionSeva website (https://www.pensionseva.sbi.bank.in) and PensionSeva mobile App PensionSeva Help Document -
- 4. Taking care of all requirements of TDS on pension.
- 5. Helpline facility at all CPPCs.
- 6. Contact Centre facility.

- 8. The facility of transfer of pension account to any of 22000+ pension paying SBI branches.
