- * It is a preprinted kit in a sealed window envelope. It contains a letter mentioning the Username and Password to login Internet Banking facility. Customer has to logon to Online SBI with the username and the password. The username and password are valid only for the first login. After logging in for the first time, customer must create his own username and password. It can be given over the counter when customer is submitting account opening application, which will be linked to the account once it is opened by the concerned branch/office in India. Existing account holders, who are not availing Internet Banking facility yet can also obtain this kit and activate their internet banking access.

As the overseas extension of India’s largest bank, our office provides personalized support, seamless coordination, and dedicated services to help NRIs manage their banking and financial requirements with ease and confidence.
While we do not undertake direct banking transactions, we facilitate a wide range of services including account-related assistance, loan document execution, and customer support by closely coordinating with SBI branches and processing centers across India. The Dubai Representative Office acts as a single point of contact, committed to enhancing the service experience for our valued NRI customers in the region.

General Queries
- Can I open an account directly through the Dubai Office?
Yes. You may submit your account opening forms and related documents at our office. We will verify and forward them to the designated NRI Centre or branch in India for processing.

Our office functions solely as a Representative Office and does not handle any financial transactions directly. However, we facilitate and forward customer requests such as fund transfers, repatriations, and deposit placements to the concerned SBI branches in India.
- Do you have offices in other Emirates?
Yes. State Bank of India presently operates two Representative Offices in the UAE – one in Dubai and another in Abu Dhabi.
- Is there any service charge for services availed at the Dubai Office?
No. The Representative Office does not levy any service charges. However, standard bank charges as applicable at the home branch will apply for requests such as fund transfers, ATM issuance, or deposit processing.
For detailed information, please refer to the Service Charges section on the SBI NRI website. - Can I collect my Internet Banking credentials from the Dubai Office?
Internet Banking credentials are now shared directly by the NRI Centre or home branch to the customer’s registered email ID. However, customers may submit related requests through our office for onward transmission to the respective branch.
- Do you handle deposits or withdrawals?
The Representative Office does not handle cash transactions. However, customers may submit requests for placing deposits or related instructions, which will be verified and forwarded to their home branch in India for processing.
- Can I collect my Debit Card from this office?
Debit cards are not issued or delivered through the Representative Office. However, you may submit a request at our office for forwarding to your home branch for delivery to your registered address, whether in India or overseas.
- Can I submit my NRI Home Loan application at the Dubai Office?
Yes. You may submit your home loan application and the related documents at our office. We will verify and forward them to the designated Home Loan Processing Centre / Branch in India for further action.

No. Document attestation at our office is provided free of cost as a customer facilitation service.
- Can you assist with Power of Attorney (POA) documentation?
Our office is not authorised to sign or execute Power of Attorney documents. These must be attested through the Indian Embassy or Consulate. However, we provide guidance on the procedure and format as per SBI and Indian regulatory requirements.
Know Your Customer (KYC)
- Can I submit KYC update forms for my NRE/NRO or resident accounts?
Yes. Forms for updating KYC details of NRE/NRO accounts can be submitted at our office and will be forwarded to the respective Global NRI Centres or branches in India.
For resident accounts, KYC details cannot be submitted through our office. However, requests for conversion of resident savings accounts to NRO accounts may be submitted here for onward forwarding.

The State Bank of India Representative Office in Abu Dhabi, has come into existence in January 2018, post merger with State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) with State Bank of India (SBI) under the Representative Office license from the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
As an overseas extension of India’s largest bank in Abu Dhabi, UAE, our office provides personalized support, seamless coordination, and dedicated services to help NRIs manage their banking and financial requirements with ease and confidence.
Our office is primarily engaged in facilitation of various retail banking needs of the huge population of NRIs/OCIs who are residing in Abu Dhabi and outskirts of Abu Dhabi, including updation of KYC (Know Your Customer), Fixed deposit related service assistance, post sanction documentation/attestation services and Internet banking related assistance for NRIs.
Below are the various services which are being facilitated at SBI Representative office, Abu Dhabi
- Accepting Account Opening Forms from customers and submitting the same to GNCs (Global NRI Centres) for processing.
- Attesting and forwarding various customer service requests like Cheque Book application, Debit Card application, Mobile Number Updating, KYC Updating etc.

- Can I open an NRI account at Abu Dhabi Branch of SBI?
This is a Representative Office of SBI. We assist you in verifying and assisting your documents for opening NRE/NRO accounts and converting your regular Savings Bank accounts to NRO accounts. The forms submitted at this office are forwarded to Global NRI Centers for account opening in your desired branch in India.
- What is the difference between NRE and NRO accounts?
NRE account (Non-Resident External) allows NRIs to deposit foreign earnings in India, with balances fully repatriable and tax-free in India. The balances are held in Indian Rupees. Fixed Deposit created from NRE accounts earns non-taxable interest.
NRO accounts (Non-Resident Ordinary) are used by NRIs to manage income earned in India, such as rent, dividends or pension. NRO balances are partially repatriable, and the interest earned is taxable in India. The balances are held in Indian Rupees. - Can we avail Housing loans from SBI Abu Dhabi?
Being a Representative Office, we assist you in connecting with the branches in India, post sanction documentation, verification/attestation of your documents and submission of complied documents/forms to your loan sanctioning branch.
- Is there a Personal loan facility available for NRIs?
There are various loans tailor made for NRIS viz. NRI Housing loan, NRI Education loan, NRI Car loan, Overdraft / Demand Loan against your existing fixed deposits.
- Can I avail of an Internet Banking facility for my NRE account?
Yes, if you had earlier not availed the facility, you can do so by visiting onlinesbi.sbi.bank.in and register as a new user. The site will prompt you for your CIF no(Customer Identification File No.), registered mobile no, date of birth. You will be authenticated by your existing debit card PIN. If the customer is not in possession of the debit card PIN the application has an option to register through the branch. For assistance, you can contact the Representative Offices in person to submit an application for registering for internet banking facility.
- Is YONO working in the U.A.E.?
YONO LITE, Application version of SBI’s internet banking suitable for mobile handsets is available for both resident and non-resident Indians.
- Can I get interest certificates from your office?
Yes, Interest Certificates for loans, deposits, statements of accounts are provided to customers on specific request basis.
- What are the documents required for opening an NRE Account?

Yes, KYC for NRIs are to be updated once in 2 years. However, customers can send their self-attested KYC documents to their respective branches/GNCs if there is no material change in passport of local address proof document.
- What are the office timings for SBI Abu Dhabi?
0900 Hrs. to 1600 Hrs. (Except Sundays and public holidays)
- Is original passport mandatory for KYC?
Yes
- Can KYC be done online?
Yes, customers can send their self-attested KYC documents to their respective branches/GNCs if there is no material change in passport or local address proof document.
- Can funds be transferred from this office?
Requests/Applications for fund transfer can be submitted at this office which in turn are submitted to the respective branch for materialization.
- How to open FCNR from Abu Dhabi?
Customers can contact our office. A Relationship Manager from this office will guide you through the entire process of creation of FCNR deposit.
- How to do outward remittance from NRE/FCNR/NRO?
Funds available in NRE/FCNR are freely repatriable. Requests can be submitted at this office for outward remittance. Funds from NRO can also be repatriated with some restrictions.
- Can I apply for credit cards from U.A.E.?
We guide you through the entire process of applying for credit cards.
- I am a housewife residing in Abu Dhabi. Can I open an NRI account?
Yes, you can.
- Can we apply for ATM cards/Cheque Books from your office?
Yes.
- Can my Adhaar card be linked to my account from here?
The bank captures only your Passport as the proof of Identity.
- Can I submit my life certificate at your office?
Yes, the certificates submitted in person are forwarded to your branch in India after due certification.
- Can I get the contact details of my home branch in India?
Yes, we can provide the details if the requests are raised through genuine means.
- Are the ATM cards delivered at my residence in U.A.E.?
Yes, the ATM cards/cheque books are delivered at your registered address in U.A.E..
- Can ATM cards be delivered at my Indian Address?
Yes, on specific requests from the customers, ATM Cards/Cheque Books can be delivered to an Indian address to a nominated close relative in India after due authentication.
- What is the minimum balance required to be maintained in my account?
There is no minimum balance criteria for NRE/NRO accounts. However, you should always maintain balance to serve for your ATM/SMS/Cheque book application fees or loan/SIP obligations.
- Can we invest in Indian Mutual Funds/stocks from U.A.E.?
Yes, we can assist you in opening an PIS account where NRIs can invest in Indian Securities market.
- Do you have branches/offices in Al Ain?
We have two Representative Offices of SBI in U.A.E., one each in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
